The Tizi-n-Tichka pass, is the route to Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert, and the centre of Morocco's film industry. The journey is reckoned to take 4 hours. Telouet or Ait Ben Haddou can be taken in along the way. Ouarzazate itself is not particularly picturesque, but is a convenient stop off point en route to the desert.

Its main attractions are the Musee Regional de la Resistance, and the Atlas Corporation Studios and CLA studios which are open to visitors. Moving on from Ouarzazate into the scenic Dades Valley, and Dades`Gorge, and onward towards the desert.
