Dar Zaman is a zen-chic riad in the Sidi Ben Slimane quarter of the northern Medina. This centuries old riad has been newly refurbished, reflecting clean simplicity and traditional Moroccan craftsmanship.
The riad is centred around an interior courtyard, with a plunge pool and fountain, providing an oasis of calm and serenity in the heart of the bustling medina. Opening onto the courtyard, are a spacious salon and dining room, both with fireplace, and tucked away in a corner is a cosy smaller salon with satellite TV. The four comfortable double bedrooms are all in fresh white, with splashes of colour provided in fixtures, tadelakt, and furnishings. All bedrooms have ensuite bath/shower rooms and are air-conditioned.
The terrace offers the opportunity for sunbathing and lounging surrounded by olive, lemon and palm trees, and a host of scented plants - an ideal spot for afternoon mint tea. It enjoys views over the medina rooftops to the Koutoubia Mosque, and in winter the distant snow-capped High Atlas mountains.
Breakfast consists of fresh orange juice, crepes, bread, and croissants, preserves, mint tea and coffee. Lunch and dinner (ordered in the morning) consist of salads, soups, tagines, couscous and pastillas. Meals can be taken in the courtyard, salon, or on the roof terrace - and at almost any time of day.
