"Inside the riad, the décor is simple, elegant and full of Moroccan character. Each apartment is equipped with a kitchenette and all the self catering essentials. The beds (ours in ALIZEE apartment) were HUGE – I slept like a baby every night. The bathrooms are a good size and well presented with a shower, and fresh towels are provided daily. The apartments are cleaned daily and very well maintained by housekeepers Latifa and Rashid (both so lovely), so each day we returned to what felt like a brand new apartment! Each apartment has a safe should you wish to lock up any possessions and each night the night guardian arrives so we always felt totally safe and secure at all times.

It was the small touches that made each days return to the blissful haven of Dar Lazuli and our week’s stay in Essouira extra special. So whether it’s the culture, activities (it’s a kite surfers paradise), great restaurants, bars, fresh food or beaches that bring you to Essaouira, Dar Lazuli provides the perfect setting for an enchanting Moroccan adventure! I hope you enjoy it as much as we did!"

Alex from from South East, May 2013

"Dar Lazuli is a beautiful riad set right in the heart of the medina, we weren't sure what to expect on arrival, as we wove our way through the little alleyways and, once through the big front door, were amazed at the beautiful clean self-contained apartments, decorated throughout with gorgeous colours and each fully equipped with a kitchen and bathroom.
There are also three outdoor roof terraces on different levels, with the top one offering fantastic views of the charming town of Essaouira. I think it's safe to say from the very first night, we sensed that this really is a magical place.

The location of Dar Lazuli was fantastic, really close to the main square with its plethora of lovely cafes, as soon as we woke up we'd go straight out to soak up the atmosphere and got addicted to Cafe Au Lait of a morning!

Our excellent housekeepers at Dar Lazuli, Rachid and Latifa, looked after us so well and were so helpful in giving us directions. The cleanliness was impeccable and one evening they cooked us a traditional riad which we ate on the riad's roof terrace by candlelight.

5 days didn't seem enough, i think by then the place had got under our skin and the riad felt like home. We didn't want to leave and we will definitely return to Dar Lazuli, it is perfect for a girlie bonding holiday but equally i imagine it'd be a really romantic place for lovers, or indeed a great place for families. Next time i will hire the whole riad and take more friends so we can share such a wonderful memorable experience."
