Created with passion and a genuine love of the Atlas Mountains and the adventurous hilly Morocco, Kasbah Angour has been painstakingly yet meticulously constructed over a period of 5 years from the origin of sourcing a natural alpine water source to supply the Kasbah to the beautifully pruned gardens and personal service, Kasbah Angour is a Riad in the Atlas Mountains that provides a peaceful sanctuary to all those privileged to stay.

Crafted out of materials found a few meters from its location, plus solar panels for heating, Kasbah Angour is an ecological haven. The mortar for the local stoned walls has been taken from the nearby riverbed constructed perfectly into semi dry stonewalls.

Kasbah Angour has 22 bedrooms and 3 suites, all with panoramic views. The bedrooms and suites are constructed from traditional Moroccan materials: walls in local red sandstone; floors in hand made clay tiles from Meknes; windows and doors in cedar wood from the Middle Atlas Mountains; ceilings in wood and cane or plaster with sculpted cornices. The locally made furniture has Berber motifs. Comfort has not been overlooked. All of the bedrooms and suites have under-floor heating, air conditioning, telephone and free wireless internet. In addition, the suites have bars with countertop, fridge and sink. Most of the beds can be made up as two singles or one king size double.

The building of Kasbah Angour have been designed, along with underfloor heating, to retain heat in the winter, yet shed it in the hotter summer months leaving the property quite suitable and confortable throughout the calendar year. As much tradition has been kept as possible, with ceilings composed of bamboo and eucalyptus poles as has been so effective and necessary in age old Berber craft.

The onsite allotments at Kasbah Angour source the kitchen with daily fresh produce, all organic and understood upon tasting the wonderful and varied menu from the large restaurant area or café with optional seating inside and out.

A well located property, Kasbah Angour is at the gateway to several mountain trekking routes plus local Berber villages and only a 30 minute drive from the great city of Marrakech, also visible at the base of the gorge from Kasbah Angour on a clear day.

"Just got back from 4 days at Kasbah Angour following a 4 night stay in Marrakech medina with the family (2 teenage girls who loved this place). The hotel is newly built, excellently appointed and in an incredible spot nesting ontop of the foothills of the Atlas mountain range. It overlooks a green valley dotted with small Berber villages and farms, and is surrounded by the most breathtaking vista. The service is very friendly, unfussy and nothing is a problem for the staff who are just great. Paul the owner is an ex-pat who has pioneered the vision of creating a retreat that's not only in the heart of an unerring beauty spot, but also is in touch with the local Berber people and culture. You can do as much or as little as you wish, with options including guided walks, 4x4 excursions, mountain biking, or just sitting around the pool or in the lushly landscaped gardens reading! There will definately be a 'next time'."

James M. from London, April 2013

"Stay here when in Marrakech. Just 30 minutes away it is easy to go to Marrakech for a day.At the Kasbah, you are greeted and looked after with real care not just by Paul but his staff who are all local Berbers.

The Kasbah's traditional architecture is calm and inviting. The rooms are large and tastefully decorated. Surrounded by beautiful gardens and overlooked by the Atlas,it is a perfect getaway for people of all ages. All our walks were well planned and we had excellent guides who not only looked after us well but were able to share many interesting stories about the local culture and traditions. We were also able to tailor the walks to suit our ability.

Food was prepared using local ingredients. It was simple, fresh and tasty. We ended our time on a high not just as a result of the warmth of the sun but of the people for whom the comfort of their guest was paramount.A memorable trip. Shukran,Kasbah Angour."

Florence D. from London, February 2013

Located in the foothills of the imposing High Atlas Mountains, Kashab Angour is well placed to explore a range of local mountains and Berber villages, along side the option to travel to Marrakech even for a short trip with driving time only 30 minutes.
