The Kasbah du Toubkal (1800m), just 60km from Marrakech, is situated at the foot of Jbel Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa. It is a Berber auberge for groups and individuals. The Kasbah du Toubkal is an extraordinary venture, the product of an imaginative Berber and European partnership. There is a shared belief that the beauty of the Toubkal National Park should be accessible to all who respect it. To this end the Kasbah has been transformed using traditional methods, from the home of a Feudal Caid into an unprecedented haven; one that provides a variety of accommodation and event possibilities to meet differing requirements. The Kasbah is a welcoming environment for those seeking comfortable mountain refuge, and for those who wish for superb rooms in a stunning setting. The Kasbah du Toubkal is not a hotel in the traditional sense, it is more an extension of the hospitality that stems from the home of the Berbers who run it.

Please note: There is 5% levy on all charges (incl. room) which goes to the local Village Association "Association des Bassins d'Imlil" and "Education for All" which covers the whole of the surrounding valleys.

Base prices are in €Euro: Sterling, USD and Moroccan dirham rates will vary by exchange rate.

Trekking in the High Atlas

Hiking in the High Atlas is one of the best possible experiences in Morocco. Regardless of your level of fitness this area is accessible to all.

Whether you choose to explore the area in a few hours or endeavour to ascend Mount Jebel Toubkal, the highest mountain in North Africa, the team at Kasbah Toubkal is always on hand to arrange any type of activity, best suited to your needs.

"The Kasbah du Toubkal is really a stunning hotel. Totally different to anywhere I have every stayed before - rustic yet luxurious, beautiful yet basic. I can't even begin to describe how incredible the views are from the hotel - from any point in the hotel you have a beautiful view of Toubkal or the valleys below.
The room was great, so cosy and with a lovely bathroom. I like how we had our own building - was very private.
The staff at the Kasbah are simply amazing. Super friendly, so happy to help and make sure you have the best time possible. Hassan at reception really went out his way for us, and our guide on our trek was fun and knowledgeable.
The moment you arrive, a mule takes your luggage up to the Kasbah, and you get the same treatment on your departure. The service at this hotel really is impeccable.
The food at the Kasbah is excellent - the dining experience on the terrace for both breakfast and dinner is truly special.
I would recommend anyone to stay at the Kasbah."

Mands from St Andrews

"Kasbah du Toubkal is an unusual hotel that you can't fail to be impressed by. We couldn't wait to tell others about it. The location is unarguably spectacular, the short walk up from the village behind a donkey carrying your bags unusual rather than troublesome, the staff friendly and welcoming, the setup well thought through with all that you need if not - and not meant to be - "all mod cons" and the food perfectly good if not 'haute cuisine'. The Kasbah itself is well placed for walks up into the mountains underneath wonderful Mt. Toubkal. If this isn't your thing, there isn't much to do except savour the peace. Oh, and take along any alcohol you'd like: they don't mind this at all, but being respectful of the Islamic principles of the community they don't serve it to guests themselves. In fact, there is a strong sense that principles drive this establishment - in supporting the local community (and actually doing so) and in operating sensitively within the beautiful environment. I can't think that any guest has thought badly of paying the 5% surcharge that supports community projects. All in all, this is a wonderful and special place that we genuinely felt a little privileged to have visited."

Edward W. from London
